Call scripts
Cold call script to follow up after an email
The email is your excuse to call, not the point. Don't ask 'did you get my email?' — lead with value.
The script
You emailed a prospect a few days ago and now call to reference it and open a conversation.
YouHi Davide, it's Chiara from [your company]. I sent you a short note Tuesday about your outbound team — I'm not calling to check if you read it, I actually have a quick reason. Got a second?
ProspectSure, go on.
YouIn the email I mentioned we help teams stop losing follow-ups. Since I wrote it I noticed you're hiring two more reps — that's usually when follow-ups slip through the cracks. Is that on your radar?
ProspectYeah, actually, onboarding them is a worry.
YouThat's the exact moment we help. Rather than a longer email thread, could I show you 15 minutes next week on how new reps ramp without dropping leads?
ProspectSend me a couple of times.
YouWill do — I'll propose Wednesday 2pm or Thursday 10am in a one-line reply to that same thread so it's easy to find.
ProspectPerfect, Thursday probably.
Make it land
- Never open with 'did you get my email?' — it hands them an easy 'no' and an exit.
- Add a new piece of info since the email so the call isn't just a nag.
- Reply on the same email thread so your proposed times are trivial to find.
- Keep the ask small: 15 minutes, specific topic, two concrete slots.
If they push back
'I haven't had time to read it.' — 'No problem, that's why I called — let me give you the 20-second version now and you decide if it's worth a slot.'
How Tepio helps you run it
Tepio links the email you sent to the company record, so when you dial you can see exactly what you promised and when.
