YouTotally normal. Can I ask — if it were entirely your call, would you move ahead, or is there still a doubt in your own mind?
ProspectPersonally I'd do it, but I need my CFO to sign off on budget.
YouGot it — so it's not the product, it's the business case. Would it help if I put together a one-page ROI summary you can forward, and we do a 15-minute call with the CFO?

Make it land

  • Ask the 'if it were entirely your call' question to separate product doubt from process.
  • Name the blocker out loud (budget, boss, timing) so you solve the right problem.
  • Arm your champion with a forwardable one-pager — they sell internally without you.
  • Always leave with a dated next step, not 'let me know'.

'We're still thinking about it.' — 'Fair — what's the one thing you're still weighing? If I can answer it now, you save yourself a week.'
