Call scripts
Cold call voicemail script that gets callbacks
Most voicemails die because they pitch. Yours should be short, human, and leave a reason to call back.
The script
You reach voicemail and have 20 seconds to earn a callback or set up your next attempt.
YouHi Marta, it's Diego from [your company] — we haven't spoken. I'm calling about the follow-up gaps that show up when a sales team grows, which I think is happening at your company right now.
Prospect[voicemail — no answer]
YouI'll keep this short: I have one specific idea for your team and I'd rather not leave it on a machine. I'll try you Thursday morning, or you can reach me back at this number.
Prospect[voicemail — no answer]
YouIf Thursday's bad, no problem — a quick reply telling me a better time saves us both the phone tag.
YouEither way I'll follow with a two-line email so you have my name in writing. Talk soon, Marta — this is Diego from [your company], on 06-555-0142.
Make it land
- Keep it under 25 seconds; long voicemails get deleted before the point.
- Say your name and number at the start and the end — people replay the ends.
- Leave curiosity, not the pitch — 'one specific idea' beats a feature list.
- Tell them when you'll call again so the voicemail sets up the next touch.
If they push back
'I never call sales voicemails back.' — expect this: pair every voicemail with a short email and a scheduled retry, so the voicemail is a touch, not your only shot.
How Tepio helps you run it
Tepio logs the voicemail as an attempt and schedules your next call automatically, so nothing relies on memory.
