Call scripts

Cold call script for handling common objections

Objections are reflexes, not verdicts. Acknowledge, reframe, and ask one more question instead of arguing.

The scenario

The script

You're mid-call and the prospect throws the usual brush-offs; this script keeps you in the conversation.

ProspectLook, I don't have time for this right now.
YouTotally fair, and I'll respect that — I need 30 seconds, and if it's not relevant I'll let you go. Deal?
ProspectFine, 30 seconds.
YouWe help teams claw back an hour a day of call prep. Quick question — is prep time even a problem for you, or are you sorted there?
ProspectIt's a problem, but we've got no budget this quarter.
YouUnderstood — then let's not talk money today. If I show you the time saved and it's real, would next quarter's budget conversation be worth having?
ProspectIf it's genuinely an hour a day, yeah.
YouThen let's book 20 minutes to prove the hour first. Budget follows proof, not the other way round.

Make it land

  • Acknowledge the objection before answering; agreement lowers the defenses.
  • Trade 'no time' for a tiny, time-boxed ask (30 seconds) they can say yes to.
  • Separate 'no budget' from 'no interest' — one is timing, the other is a real no.
  • End every rebuttal with a question so you keep control of the conversation.

If they push back

'We already work with someone.' — 'Good, that means you value this. I'm not asking you to switch — just to see one thing they might not do, so you're comparing.'
