Call scripts

Cold call script after a LinkedIn connection

The LinkedIn thread is your warm bridge. Reference it specifically, then take the conversation somewhere email can't go.

The scenario

The script

You connected and exchanged a message or two on LinkedIn; now you call to move it offline.

YouHi Roberto, it's Chiara from [your company] — we connected on LinkedIn last week and you commented on my post about call prep. Thought a quick call beat another comment thread. Got a minute?
ProspectHa, yes — I did like that post.
YouAppreciated it. You mentioned your team's scaling — that's usually when the prep problem I wrote about really bites. Is that landing for you?
ProspectIt is, we feel it every week.
YouThen it's worth more than a comment. Could I show you 20 minutes of how we solve it, tailored to a team your size?
ProspectSure, I'm curious now.
YouGreat — I'll DM you two times on LinkedIn since that's where we started, and send a calendar invite for whichever you pick.
ProspectWorks for me.

Make it land

  • Reference the specific post or message — vague 'we connected' wastes the warmth.
  • Explain why you're calling instead of messaging: depth beats another thread.
  • Bridge from their online comment to the offline pain it hints at.
  • Close on the channel you started in (a LinkedIn DM) to keep continuity.

If they push back

'Let's just keep it on LinkedIn.' — 'Happy to DM the details — but 20 minutes live will save us ten messages. Want two times to pick from?'
